What information do we collect?

When you use this website, we collect certain pieces of data about you. This is primarily impersonal analytical data which allows us to improve our website and suit it better to the needs and demands of our users. But we may also collect other information too. Cookies are used to collect analytical data, and to manage the membership sign up process.

The data we collect:

  • We collect anonymised analytical data about your visit to our website, this includes information about when, where, what kind of device and what kind of software you used, as well has how you got here and how much time you spent here.   • If you get in touch with us using our contact form then you will have provided your email address, your IP address, and any other details or message contents you may have entered into the form. We will retain contact form submissions for as long as is pertinent. The information submitted will not be used for any other purose without your clearly expressed and prior consent.
  • If you subscribe to our mailing list then your details in relation to this are held by our third-party provider, Mailchimp. The information you submit will be held and used in accordace with Mailchimp’s privacy policy which you can read here: https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/#contacts
  • If you are a party member and therefore have an account with this website, the personal details such as you name, address, email address and other details relating to your membership are held for the duration of your membership. You can access and update all of these details at any time by logging into your account and going to the ‘You Membership Details‘ page.
  • When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
  • Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Where is your data?

The data we collect is stored on our secure server which is located in Denmark. Analytical and other data may be collected by Google Analytics and MailChimp, and these may be stored outside the European Union, but your privacy is protected by the EU-US Privacy Shield.

Who has access to your data?

The number of people who have access to your data, both analytical website usage data, and membership and contact information, is kept to a minimum. You cannot be identified personally from analytical data. Member details are accessible only by those who administer the membership system and manage the party finances. Your details may also be passed to your local, regional or national branch, if one exists. We may also pass on your personal information if we have a legal obligation to do so. But we won’t share your information with any other organisations for marketing, market research or commercial purposes, and we don’t pass on your details to other websites other than those stated above.

How do we protect your data?

Due to the nature of the internet, we cannot guarantee the security of your data. The data you transfer over the internet, you do at your own risk. However, we have taken steps to protect your data. We use a secure connection for all data transfers to and from our server, and we have implemented security features to reduce the risk of unauthorised access.

Your rights over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes.
